This town is incredible! They have totally spiffed up the entire down town area, from Oakville Grocery to Dry Creek Kitchen/ Healdsburg Hotel, to Bear Republic, Mr. Moons, and so much more! Every week it seems a new shop or boutique is opening up with some incredible eye catching product encouraging future visits. The shops surround the downtown square filled with massive trees and relaxing fountains. If you are looking for an evening of fun I recommend you have dinner at the Dry Creek Kitchen, (which is owned by Charlie Palmer) order the tasting menu and have it paired with wine (a 2 hour experience and you are guaranteed to be tipsy by the end) then walk around the square for a good hour window shopping. The evening country air will be amazing and the town stays fairly lively till about 10 or 11pm.
If your more of a day person, take a ride down Dry Creak Road to Lake Sonoma. Dry Creak Road is one of the most beautiful drives anywhere and has some of the most luxurious real estate you can buy in Sonoma County. For a more intimate country experience, drive down West Dry Creak Road which is basically almost a one lane road that's right out of a fairy tale. Views of Geyser Peak and Mt. Saint Helena are to the east while large Redwood and Oak forests rise up to the west.
If you want a slightly different experience, go east to Fitch Mountain on Fitch Mountain Road. The Villa Chanticleer is an amazing place to have an event and its quite affordable. Or swim in the Russian River at Palimar or Memorial Beach. Drive through Alexander Valley and go wine tasting and be amazed at the scenery on Chalk Hill Road.
Now let's talk homes in Healdsburg. Healdsburg real estate has been on a steady rise for the last decade. Homes in Healdsburg range from small farm houses, to quaint Victorians, to large new homes, to ranches, estates, wineries, custom homes, large mansions, to you name it. The prices range from low 400's on up to several million. Healdsburg real estate is not being effected by the market slump as hard as some of its neighbors. A home in Healdsburg is a hot item and usually it has a view of some amazing vineyard, winery, or incredible rolling hills. That's my opinion of Healdsburg and Healdsburg Real Estate.
